My abstract pieces or surreal pieces emerge from everyday life or distorted versions of my dreams. Recreating a dream is a surreal process despite the outcome of the painting. It’s on an intimate level, yet can be so detected. I often do not remember my dreams; I must sketch them instantly after waking or the dream is lost. The stories begin to come alive when created on canvas.

When it comes to abstract, I love the way color mixes with itself, there is no control sometimes of what will happen within a piece.  The process may take some time before a final piece is finished due to images emerging, rearranging, or disappearing.
